Snakecharmer Cover 1.jpg (68648 bytes)

Dark Fiction - The anti-hero, Shayden, is a 27-year-old hair stylist with a strong dislike for authority. His best friend, Gordy, is the only person with whom he actually relates. Gordy, however, is addicted to meth and is on a rapid downward spiral.

Shayden’s romantic interest is a 17-year-old attractive blonde named Ashley. The two love each other, but the relationship sours when Ashley realizes Shayden is too controlling. When she moves out of their apartment, she makes the mistake of leaving her pet python, Anus, in the apartment. He had escaped from his cage and when Shayden, in a drunken rage, finds the snake, he cuts him up into little pieces, puts him in a plastic bag and returns him to Ashley at her school the next morning. Meanwhile, Gordy continues to struggle with his addiction and Shayden is unable to convince him to kick the habit. Gordy’s behavior becomes increasingly erratic and violent. He ultimately ends up in a long standoff with the police and blows his head off with a shotgun.

The death is tragic for Shayden, who slips further into isolation, depression, and eventually insanity. He begins having hallucinations, one includes a disturbing meeting between he and Gordy in the funeral home where Gordy’s service was held. Gordy’s influence, even while dead, plays a huge role in the anti-hero’s downward spiral. Be Your Own Salmon by Thomas S. Dittmar, III

Self-Help - The story in Be Your Own Salmon is for people who are stuck. Stuck professionally. Stuck in the Great Recession and don’t know what to do next. Stuck in menial jobs right out of college and swimming in student debt. Stuck in that teenage belief that life will be instantly wonderful on the eighteenth birthday. Stuck in the fear of who will hire a stay-at-home mom once she is ready to return to the workforce.
The wisdom of the book is in its characters. Sal and Master Cohosaki show DeYoung Smolts, a car salesman down on his luck, how to get unstuck and, well, be his own salmon. But this is a book for anyone in need of the sage advice to regain control of his or her life. In these hard times, is that you?
Excuses come easy with failure. This book is about swimming out of the muck of excuses and taking charge of your life. Here you can learn about yourself, maybe even relearn who you once were, and discover what you can be…with a little help from Sal.
I hope you enjoy reading Be Your Own Salmon and maybe, just maybe, it will make those hard waterfalls seem a little easier to swim up.

Asunder - A Love Story About Divorce by Christopher Canaan

Asunder Cover 2.jpg (49200 bytes)

Autobiography - “Asunder is one of those rare pieces of work that make you laugh until your sides hurt and moves you to tears.  It is brutally honest and intimate post-mortem of a marriage that will resonant powerfully with both sexes because it exposes the truths that lie hidden in so many relationships and illuminates the real possibilities of life after divorce.  Canaan is unique and profoundly experienced voice is what makes Charlie's journey so compelling, so painful, and ultimately, so universal.  I can't recommend this deeply personal, provocative and entertaining novel highly enough.” -Brenda Friend- Producer, Los Angeles

Asunder led me into the labyrinth of a divorced man’s mind, revealing an illuminating portrait of anguish and twisted humor. The power of the words came alive when Chris Canaan invited me to read from his work, to feel his pain as an actor and to experience the complete emersion of the audience into the experience.” -Annie Potts- actress, ‘Designing Women’
“Asunder is a hilarious account of one man's existential train wreck.  Chris Canaan stays sane through it all--just barely--because he is emotionally honest and funnier than a bag of clowns.  I laughed until I cried and then cried until I laughed again, and finally lost track of which tears were which…I love this book.” -David Miller- Professor of Literature, University of South Carolina    $8.95  USA    1.13 MB

Of Wind And Wisdom by R. L. Branson

Of Wind and Wisdom.jpg (2540406 bytes)

Poetry - Listen! The master Angels are speaking:

Roads

There are roads I’d rather travel
than the road that I am on.
  I have made many choices
and some of them were wrong.
I was looking for a place,
a place to belong.
I shouldn’t have involved you
and taken you along.
We can wait our troubles out
if we can just be strong.
But
There are roads I’d rather travel
than the road that I am on.

Poetry and Rhymes - Poems and Rhymes of our transitions through life will capture your sole and are among the greatest you will ever read...like:

Small Potatoes

Once again the squeaky voice
I can't keep down leaks.
While the giants around me strut
and win their prizes.
I keep calling out in empty rooms.
The merchants come and offer to
give me a small innocuous presence for
a fee, but I know the infantile dreams
I tried to make real are part of sleep.

The Gospel of the Travelers (it) by  Prisoner, Kalio De Phansigar, #33-69-97-A1

Traveler_Cover.jpg (180782 bytes)

Mythological Theology - Adam and Eve and why in the garden Eden is a unique journey into the unknown, so are you, fellow Traveler (it), going my way to the mystery of our mythic beginning. This gospel deals with a unique dilemma of the human condition at the crossroads of our transformation toward Salvational gnosis of the eternal one. We are here in this material veil of tears seeking a redemptive purpose for our existence. Are we prisoners of the artistic fabricator of this material veil governed by our rudimentary passionate desires, or are we originally Travelers (it) of the eternal one self-exploring its living gnosis of the evolving cosmos, as a unity of consciousness, in that: “The Redeemer’s redemption is through the redeemed, ...the Travelers (it)...” As prisoners of the moving veil of tears, the transforming garden, we have the multifaceted Psyche of the false creator, Lord Jehovah, but now as liberated prisoners of our true eternal father of now, we have the uniquely evolving atomized Spirit of the living cosmos of gnosis, so we can become Travelers (it) again of the eternal one singing the intuitive dialectical self-conscious glory of the living cosmos of gnosis, amen.          $12.95  USA    846 KB
